Gabe Gross Traded

Gabe Gross TradedAfter todays 9-8 extra inning win, it was announced that Gabe Gross was traded to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

The Brewers got AAA pitching prospect Josh Butler.

Even though Gross was the winning run today, there will be no tears shed from Brewers fans, Gross was not having a good start to the season.

In his place, Tony Gwynn will join the team tomorrow. (Remember he was put on the DL retroactively)

Update: Adam mentions in the comments that Josh Butler is a single A player. I don't know where I got the idea he was 3A, but I was wrong. Details on Josh Butler.

I know they are the Tampa Bay Rays, but that name sucks.

Somewhat of a correction to Chris' blog: we traded Gross for a Single A pitcher, with a crappy record right now for Rays single A team (0-2 with a 6.3something ERA). He's only 23 though and I'm sure our scouts saw something pretty good in him. He was sent to our Single A affiliate in Brevard County.

I like the Gross picture Chris. Way to avoid copyright infringement by not showing Brewers/MLB logos. Ha Ha
