Brewers Bullpen Decimated

The Brewers bullpen is in trouble. In the past 3 days, Gange has blown 2 saves and Turnbow has blown 1.

Todays game went 12 innings and everyone but Turnbow pitched. Two days ago against the Reds the game went 10 innings and the Brewers used 3 pitchers from the bullpen. In the last 3 games, the bullpen has given up runs in the 9th inning or later each of the three games.

Not only is the bullpen in trouble, we don't have a closer. Gange is 6-10 in save opportunities and has an ERA of 8. He might shape up as the season goes on, but right now he scares me. The only guy that doesn't scare me right now is Stetter. Shouse and Torres are pitching very well, but I don't think of them as closers.

All in all the Brewers are playing pretty well. I just wish I had more faith in the bullpen.

Take a look at the 2 recent articles on the Brewers MLB.com site about Derrick Turnbow.

Ned is lying when he says he still has confidence in his "All-Star" pitcher. Well, he sure doesn't use him much. He was using him when we were down 2 to 3 runs. That didn't work. Then he tried using him with us up by 1 or tied and that didn't work. What else can you try Ned? Use him as a starter in place of Jell-O boy Sheets?

Turnbow actually thinks he threw the ball well and that he only gave up 1 run last night. Yeah, the go-ahead run you idiot. He thinks he's figuring "it" out now. By throwing ho-hum fastballs straight down the middle? C'mon!!

Send him down to the minors and put him in every high-pressure situation possible. Test the guy when it's not screwing up our wins.

And for Gagne! Don't get me started. This is what $10 million, that's $10,000,000, gets you. I hope he's not known as the biggest bust in baseball for '08. As of right now, 4 blown saves in 10 chances is pathetic
